As I've ventured out and expanded my Parks repertoire, I realized that this park is one of the most beautiful in the GTA. The pond sits on a 33 acre land. In the winter, the pond is used (moreso in the past than now) as a skating rink RE: Toogood Pond. A 6'6 or 7' strung up with 8lb mono can catch a lot of different things... just ask MuskieBait. That's what I always have on me for general fishing around here. I like the 7' for a little better casting distance. Most of my fishing here is on boillies (for carp only), white 1.5 or 3 grubs, worms, mepps #3, and the Rapala F-7
Toogood Pond is named after the Toogood family. The pond was originally the mill pond that powered the grist mill in the 1840s. In the early 20th century the pond was called Willow Pond or Willow Lake and was the home to several small summer cottages on north Main Street. Some had been cottages, for grist mill workers, in their earliest. Toogood Ponds is beautiful, with lovely plant life and wildlife (mostly geese) in the area. The pond itself is beautiful, and no matter where you go, as long as you are in the pond area you should be able to see the actual pond. They also offer skating in the winter, which is pretty fun.
